Q: I'm pregnant with my second child who is due (exactly) four years after the birth of my first. Do I need to buy a new infant carseat, or is it safe to use the one I used for my first daughter? I know that carseats don't expire for seven years, but have there been major advances in carseats over the past four years that I'm missing out on? What do other people do? More

Dan Zanes' Musical Dish Set for Fishes Eddy
• $36.85/set or purchase individually
• Fishs Eddy
If you're a parent I can almost guarantee you have heard Dan Zanes' folky, family-friendly music. Sharing a downhome sensibility, NYC tabletop emporium Fishs Eddy, asked Zanes to collaborate on this charming, old-timey instrument dish set. This would make a lovely gift for a young music lover (and, hey, throw in a cd!)
• $12.99
• Maukilo
We recently received this plate as a gift and even though I wish the face reminded me less of Elmer Fudd, my son asks for it at every meal. We get a kick out of giving him ketchup mustaches and hummus hair and, to my relief, there is more eating than playing involved. (There's also a Ms. Food Face.)
Name: StrollAway by MetroTots
Price: $39.99
Rating: Recommend
Buying a stroller can be a confusing decision. There are so many to choose from and, especially as a first time parent, it's hard to know which features to prioritize. One thing parents in small homes often overlook when stroller shopping is where they're going to put the damn thing. The StrollAway was designed with just these parents in mind. More
I love color, but when I'm buying something like a winter coat I tend to buy something dark and basic because I don't usually want to stand out in a crowd and it seems easier to keep clean (or, at least, less noticeable when it's not). I'm the same way about strollers. The one I predominantly used when my son was young was a safe navy. But when I bought a smaller, cheaper umbrella stroller I went for yellow and, I have to say, the color makes me happy each time I use it.
Arrhenius Melamine Plates
• $12 each

I have a stack of melamine plates at home for my son, but they're nowhere as cute as these by Swedish designer Arrhenius. I love that these are playful and bright, but not sappy. 9 to choose from.
It was two nights ago around 2am while reading a tech thread about the reappearance of the OS X Trojan malware known as Flashback I began feeling this dreadful concern about my MacBook Pro. I had recently updated my Flash player via pop-up notification, a big no-no, as the Flashback Trojan was named for its fake Adobe Flash Player installer, complete with Flash player logos. I literally jumped out of bed and went through various steps to check if my machine was infected, as I had noticed some instability issues... More
We've tried many different ways to organize the back seat of our car. With young ones in car seats, it's a struggle to keep their books, toys, snacks, and other items neat and tidy. More
