Q: I recently bought this chest of drawers, planning to do my very first makeover. I've been lurking around sites like this for ages, thinking "I really wanna have my own before/after experience." (continued below...)
Q: Where can I place my TV as the focal point?
Q: I am in the beginning stages of a living room makeover. The primary goal is to brighten the space. It's been too neutral for too long, and although I like the soothing green paint on the walls, I am afraid it makes the room too dark and "lodgey" feeling. Given all the very dark woodwork, would it help to paint the walls white?
Q: I'm hoping you can help me. I'm bed bound while recovering from surgery. If I'm going to be mostly limited to being in bed, I want to catch up on my Netflix and browse online on my laptop. What's a comfortable way for me to stay online with my predicament in mind?
Q: Hello! I live in a home in Italy and will be here for the next two years. I have been here for a year and I have NO idea how to decorate this wall! It is a little tricky to hang certain things due to the wall finish but not impossible. I don't want anything too dramatic as this is not a permanent home for us, but something needs to happen here. Please help!
Q: I found an amazing sofa laptop stand/desk but it is not yet available. Do you know of any similar sturdy, adjustable and hideaway products? Most on Amazon seem flimsy and an eyesore. Any suggestions?
Q: Hello! When we purchased our condo (pre-construction) it was sold as a two bedroom. At only 640 square feet we though cramming two bedrooms into that small of a space was ridiculous, so we converted to a one bedroom layout during construction. Of course, way back then we were thinking "comfort" not "kids". We now have a baby on the way, and the apartment, in its current state, isn't big enough. There is no room in the bedroom for a crib, change table, etc:
Q: Our new apartment has many quirks, including the two windows in the kitchen that look out into our hallway. The previous owners put them in because the wall can't be taken out, and they allow natural light into the room. I think they're ugly. Any ideas for something that will still let the light in but looks nice and won't interfere with dinner (nothing fragile)?
Q: To my horror, I have just discovered some mouse droppings on my kitchen counter, and heard some noise behind my oven that I assume must be the mouse. Yet after three nights of setting all kinds of traps in my tiny kitchen, none has caught a mouse. Despite this, I am in full disinfecting-mode. I'm a recent college grad (two years out) and this is my first time dealing with mice. My questions for you all are:
Q: Hello, Apartment Therapy! I am in dire need of advice. My boyfriend and I have this big (and rather comfy) red sofa. After moving into a 715 square foot apartment, we're hopelessly clueless on how to design around it. I lean towards a more minimalist Danish design aesthetic, while the man of the house just goes along with anything (as long as it's not pink).
