I'm doing a little project over the next few weeks: exploring the biggest problems (and solutions if you've got them) in the various rooms of our homes - starting with The Bedroom.
When it comes to all the things you do in using and keeping up your bedroom, what are the biggest problems that vex you?? Yes, I'm talking about everything from bedding to lighting to cleaning to arrangement.... you name it. I'm even interested in big LITTLE niggling problems as well as problems with your bedroom around sleeping (rest) and sex (expression), but please don't get off track :). Here are some of the problems that irritate me: More
Are you seriously telling me winter only officially began 9 days ago? I know much of the country has been shivering in their boots for months, so I guess now's the time for the serious hunkering down to begin. Here are some of our favorite winter living discussions, sure to keep us healthy and happy 'till spring — though it would all be a lot easier if this was a Winter Olympics year… More
I definitely, definitely do want to be here in my cit-aay, but urban living has its challenges: a lack of space and privacy, an abundance of noise and dirt, and a high price of admission. But, oh, the wonders to behold! Let's explore the ways we fit into our cityscapes in 2012… More

A couple years back, my partner and I gave into our infommercial temptations and purchased the Insanity workout program DVD. That @$ is for reals and in just a few weeks later, both of Emily and I were a lot more fit than before thanks to the workout's mix of muscle confusion and interval training. The Nike+ Kinect Training for Xbox 360 shares a very similar in look, feel, and workout routine (and in-game trainer Alex Molden sounds almost identical to Insanity's Shaun T)... More
I got some bad news yesterday — my dad fell nearly 2 stories from a ladder while hanging Christmas lights. He's going to be ok (thankfully, despite multiple pelvic fractures) but it got me thinking about all the things that can go wrong due to our holiday exuberance. I wonder if a lot of emergency rooms saw high numbers of holiday related accidents last weekend (probably, right?). In the spirit of keeping everyone merry, here are some little known safety tips.

Now that winter's here, my reluctance to get out of bed in the morning has mounted exponentially. It's much easier to snuggle deep into the covers when my alarm goes off, and I'm constantly oversleeping when I know that I should get up. In an attempt to curb this bad habit, I've compiled some tips for making waking up a bit more manageable. More
We've talked before about the pros and cons of the growing telecommuting trend. But what happens when you're suddenly a full-time telecommuter, not by choice, but by circumstance? We chatted with several office goers in the New York City metro area who found themselves having to work from home after Hurricane Sandy struck the region. Now that their routines are getting somewhat back to "normal," we asked them what they learned -- and found that their combined experiences offer a few gentle reminders on how you can try to find the balance you need to successfully work from a home office...
