Back in the 1970s, kitchen colors were different - appliances were "harvest gold" and "avocado" and the designers of kitchen tools and tabletop items seemed to look to the natural side of things for color inspiration. Many of the goods on display at this week's Home and Housewares show seemed to harken back to those days. In fact, we felt a little transported back in time. We saw far less of the poppy brights of recent years ...everything was turned down a few notches, colors were much darker, a bit earthier and we'd say a deep "plum" was THE color of the show this year.
