Last weekend at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, top of our list was to track down these panel radiators (hydronic and electric radiant heating). Popular in European homes, the sleek design and space-saving towel warmers/radiators are perfect ideas for small bathrooms (and small rooms in general).
A trend we saw heating up at KBIS this year...wood finishes for the bath. From the wooden shower "grates" (which look so nice - very spa-like and somewhat Japanese) to an over the top full tub surround, it was definitely showing up all over...
Kohler really makes everything a big deal. From the GIANT (beyond human scale) letters spelling out their name at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, to the dance performances on stage to the product displays themselves. The new Karbon Articulating Faucet demanded attention with its robotic-like features and hyped up introduction at KBIS (every hour a dance troupe would perform with themes relating to water, innovation, and of course fluid movement). Click below for shots of the show, the Karbon faucet in action, and product details:
One of the more entertaining sections of the giant KBIS (Kitchen and Bath) Show in Chicago is the Design Idea Center, put together by five of Meredith's publications. The magazines pull together sample rooms featuring new products, appliances and materials to suit fictional homeowners and show off trends in the industry. We plan to stop by and see the set-ups again this year (we're attending the show next month) but got a sneak preview from Traditional Home to share a bit early since it's bathroom month on AT...jump below for more photos:
