Name & Age: Eric, 1.5 weeks(!) old
Location: Austin, TX
When Ohdeedoh friend Luciana let us know that she was decorating a nursery for a baby boy, we couldn't wait to see what she put together. Baby Eric's nursery was lovingly decorated in advance of his October 15 birth day. Welcome home, little man.
Names: Olivia (4) and Emma (2) Location: Stockholm, Sweden Room Size: 17 square meters
Jeanette, proud mom of Olivia and Emma, is a dedicated event and product manager at a computer games publisher by day but she is passionate about designing children´s spaces in her off time. Their Scandinavian home is filled with plenty of neutral whites, greys, beiges, and purples that remind them of nature but Jeanette has a passion for color too which really came out when designing her daughters' room. She's also a big fan of vintage furniture and believes that DIY projects are the heart and soul of any room. In the end, it's the impressive number of personal touches that went into this design that make us want to learn more and more about how it all came to be.
Names and Ages: Two girls: Rembot, 3 and Baby Shark, 20 months... and a baby on the way (gender unknown) Location: Connecticut Room Size: Approximately 10 x 9
You may be feeling like you've got déjà vu. You've seen that room somewhere before! Indeed, you have--Rembot and Baby Shark's room was one of our Smaller, Cooler entries, and this room was one of the runners up in the Shared Room Category. We wanted to find out a little more about the fantastic room that Roo from Nice Girl Notes put together for her two toddler girls. Check out what we learned after the jump!
Name: Eulalie (8 months) Location: Townsville, Queensland, Australia Room Size: 3m x 4m
Before becoming a new mom, Claire was a fashion stylist in Sydney. Since then, a surprise to no one after taking this room tour, she has developed a true passion for interior design and styling. What might surprise you is that Eulalie's nursery was an evolution, starting out as a simple gender neutral room with just the handmade crib (that was Claire's as a baby!) and a couple of pieces of furniture. When Claire brought Eulalie home, with still no theme in mind, she started filling the room with things she loved and gradually it became more and more the whimsical and playful space she was hoping for; a perfect little haven for her girl.
When Britt and Keith started the process of adopting two children from Ethiopia, they started dreaming, painting and stitching up a room for their babies. Working with a few key pieces she had acquired in the course of decorating her home, Britt designed this lovely gender neutral space, not knowing if she and Keith would bring home boys or girls. In the end, they became parents to one of each, and Gus and Lula were welcomed with a cheerful and tranquil room filled with sweet vintage finds and homemade details in shades of yellow and green.
Name: Jude (6) Location: Oklahoma Room Size: 100 sq. ft.
With a very small space to design, Aja Vaught and her family had to get clever. She and her husband came up with a custom loft bed that allows for a fun sleeping space as well as a cozy study and play area. They used furniture and decorative items from around their own home while inventing some unique ways to organize in a small space.
Name: Emory (3) Location: Salt Lake City, Utah Room size: 12' x 13'
Like many interior designers, Danielle Oakey has made her own home a beautiful addition to her portfolio. So when it came time to give her daughter, Emory, a big girl room, she knew she wanted to go big on style. She started with Emory's love of animals and built from there. You can see the subtle touches of an animal theme sprinkled throughout the room, but nothing looks childish. It's young and whimsical with the bold black and white wall and fresh touches of bright aqua. And the gorgeous headboard? It's a DIY project made by Danielle. Read on...
Name & Age: Henry Sparrow (5 months)
Location: San Diego, CA
Room Size: 135 square feet
Often when we see vintage style nurseries, they're the only part of the home with this vibe, but in this residence, Henry's weet little sleep space is a perfect extension of his parents' vintage style and it feels right at home.
Name: Maren Armida Kim (18 months) Location: Brooklyn, NY Room Size: 84 sq ft
Maren's mom, Lisa, is clearly clever about color and making the most of a small space. So it's not surprising, then, that Maren's nursery was one of the winners of our Smaller Cooler 2011 Contest. We were so happy when she let us delve into a full fledged tour of her daughter's room so we could see even more photos of her cool, bright popsicle-ish color scheme in action and learn more about her clever storage ideas.
The last time we visited Lainey she was sharing a room with her little sister, Nella. The two girls are the stars of Kelle Hampton's well loved blog, Enjoying The Small Things. Kelle recently decided that Lainey should have a room of her own, but there were no empty bedrooms. Never one to let "minor" details hold her back, Kelle set out to create Lainey's new bedroom in the dining room. We see a pattern emerging here, as the room that Lainey shared with Nella used to be an office. Rock on with the repurposed rooms.
