My name is Mike, I've been writing for Unplggd for a year and a half now and I just finished up the craziest year of my life. I graduated school in May and came up to New York for a job working as a graphic designer for an international branding agency. I've been so busy finishing up school, moving to a new city, and adjusting to working life that I haven't had much time to spare for tech. Consequently most of the things I've been using have had to have a highly utilitarian function helping me get things done. But that's not to say everything is all work and no play. I've incorporated a few playful and entertaining odds and ends along the way as well.

Hi there! I'm Julienne, and I love playing video games, trying out new food spots and discovering the latest technology so I can write about these wonderful things. Besides running around looking for my latest obsession, I also work in social media and public relations in Los Angeles, which means I'm constantly hooked to apps like Twitter, Pinterest and Tumblr. That's probably why I can never go anywhere without my iPhone 4S. I gravitate towards small, portable tech that still packs a lot of functionality that I then decorate with a chic case or cute accessories.

Hey guys, I'm Range and I've been a contributing writer for Unplggd for the last 4 years. Time flies! I've also been in Asia since 2006, teaching ESL. I'm currently a graduate student in pure mathematics. This year was a big change, technologically-speaking. I made the change from a PC to a MacBook Pro, and recently got some more Apple gear. I tend to enjoy tech that's streamlined, works well and lasts a long time. It takes me a long time to decide what to buy, but when I do, I tend to pay cash for my purposes and use them as long as possible.

I've been with the Apartment Therapy Unplggd team for nearly four years now, but it sure doesn't feel that long! This year we've seen touchscreens embed themselves into mainstream culture, tons of activity in the TV-entertainment space, and small steps at consumer-grade home automation. For next year, I feel we can only expect even more push towards 'going to the cloud' and folks will start finally getting excited about the smart home - a department I'm particularly enthusiastic about!
