An update on those European budget hotels from parent company Inter Ikea: Moxy Hotels are a partnership with Marriott, and the first one will open in Milan next year. Moxy Hotels are also coming to Germany, Austria, United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Italy, The Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Norway and, of course, Sweden.

Pulp, a British indie film, will be the first movie distributed solely through a game console. A crime caper about the comic book industry, Microsoft  believes the film to be a great fit for their audience, and announced that this won't be a one-time thing. Pulp is available starting today exclusively on Xbox 360.

Design flash sale site Fab has launched its own textiles line packed with brightly hued pillows and rugs. The playfully patterned décor is part of two new collections for the company, Rest and Walk. Pillows range from $30 to $45 and rugs from $110 to $525. The sale runs through Thursday.

After a career at Gap Inc., in Architecture & Design Development, Max Gunawan decided that what he really wanted to do was to bring great design to everyday objects. He felt an urge to work with his hands, to connect and to collaborate with people. And judging by the success of his two-week old Kickstarter project for Lumio — a modern lamp with infinite possibilities — he has done just exactly that. More

French designer Giles Belley's latest line is the Organic Factory, a selection of objects for the home made from organic compounds garnered from agricultural waste. Planters and fragrance diffusers are designed to partially biodegrade, creating a dynamic element to the design.

London mayor Boris Johnson has selected Zaha Hadid Architects to design a new major airport in southeast England. Johnson stressed the urgency of a swift solution to London's air traffic woes, charging the famed architect and a team of top engineers to “[deliver] a fulsome examination of the most realistic solutions to our aviation crisis in the shortest time possible.”

Set in England at the brink of World War I, Parade's End is a five-part miniseries starring Benedict Cumberbatch as an aristocrat trapped in a loveless marriage with feelings for a suffragette. This brings a new meaning to curb your dog: part of Richard Jackson's "Ain't Painting a Pain" exhibit at the Orange County Museum of Art, a large fiberglass labrador relieves himself on ugly buildings.
