Our girls are close in age, and so it has been very natural for them to share a room. We had two small beds in this room, but as they began outgrowing toddler beds we started looking for a bunk bed solution.
While it's travel month here on Apartment Therapy, not all of us can just hop in a plane or car and head to somewhere new. So how about a travel of a different kind, online as we leaf through some rooms we have featured from across the Pacific? Here are some of our favorite kids' rooms that have come to us from Australia!
Cork is so cool right now! And who can say no to more places to hang homemade art, really? If you loved Hello Bee's cute cork bear mirror, but DIY is not really your thing, here's some cork for your kid's room, starting at just $1.99.
We live in a fairly small two bedroom home in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood. Our first child (a boy) is due on August 6, so we have spent the past several months transforming our guest room into his nursery.
Lily Rose's arrival was five years in the making, so when she finally arrived I had folders full of decorating ideas I couldn't wait to bring to life. I started off with my paint colors which are a combination of traditional pastel pink, neutral white and mushroom, which I think allow the small space to have maximum light but also warmth.
8-year-old Jake had been sharing a room with his older brother until the family decided it was time for each of the boys to have their own space. Their home had a small office that might serve for a third bedroom... after a few little adjustments.
We moved into a Mid-Century ranch when Little Pilot was around six-months-old. This new house gave us the opportunity to redesign his nursery in the vintage-modern style we were craving. We put a lot of DIY elbow grease into his room and are thrilled with the result.
Name: Lexy, Erin and Chad Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands Room Size: 13' x 7'
Sweet and serene - little Lexy sure has a dreamy room! The ice blue color contrast with white, pink and the light hard wood floors leaves you feeling like you are floating in the sky. Lexy's mom Erin did a fantastic job designing the room. Such a bold, bold move to paint the whole room blue - I am not sure I would be that brave - so hopefully she will give some of you idea seekers a boost of confidence when picking out your nursery color. As the Dutch say "Slaap lekker"!!! (Sleep well!)
