There's something insanely cool about geodesic, faceted pieces. Maybe it's how they manage to look futuristic and crafty at the same time. Or maybe it's the way their many surfaces scatter the light. Or maybe they're just cool. Either way, we want to get in on this. 

When I saw this photo pop into my Pinterest feed this morning, it immediately brought back memories of an old home office from a previous apartment. Not because my home workspace looked anything like Aly's from design blog, A Little Tipsy, but for the fact I recognized she had made a very similar giant-sized mousepad I had years back...

I've got a pretty shallow desk, just small enough to squeeze into a closet. And even though I've wall mounted my computer monitor and have all my daily office essentials tucked away as clutter-free as possible, I'm always on the hunt for solutions to further optimize space efficiency. Apple sync and charge cables have never been particularly hardy. With the release of the iPhone 5 and the accompanying Lightning cable, Apple strengthened the portion of the cable most prone to fraying (that’s mostly because the Lightning cable connector is much smaller than the former 30-pin version). But it's still pretty weak. Now that Lightning cables have been darting in and out of our devices and ports for more than six months (the iPhone 5 launched in September 2012), many of them are already starting to show signs of wear and tear.

Heaven knows as the Tech Editor I see more iPhone cases than anyone should be exposed to throughout the year. Cases have become so common, it's all too easy to get jaded about these popular accessories. So count me happily surprised after doing a double-take upon laying my eyes upon these DIY iPhone cases using real flowers...how appropriate with the arrival of spring time!

Everyone has to deal with stress at one time or another, so having a few tools inside the desk to pull out for a stress-break can be helpful (as well as giving your eyes a break from the computer screen). These are quick, easy, and not to mention fun ways to relax yourself throughout the day.
