If you are new to the world of art auctions, or just curious what it's like, head over to Phillips de Pury next Saturday for Saturday @ Phillips. On April 26th at 10am and 2pm, new and old collectors will have the chance to bid on a wild variety of art. The auction catalog has just come out and in it is our very own Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan, playing Tastemaker. Max was asked to pick 10 of his favorite pieces in the upcoming auction and explain why. And he did, alongside Simon Hammerstein, of The Box fame, and Irina Lazareanu, model, musician and budding cultural icon.
James and Margaret love to update in major ways. They completely transformed their last home. Now they've moved upstairs to a larger apartment and have made it a priority to carve out a private room for their growing toddler.
Here's a shout out to our friends at Cookie Magazine, who've featured us this month in their new April issue. Starting on page 30, you will find a neat monthly article called Mother/Father of Invention, which highlights Ursula, myself (Maxwell) and Sara Kate living for a year and a half in our 265 s/f apartment...
While we like to stay politically neutral online (with regards to mainstream politics), we were surprised and happy to be tipped off to our site being linked as one of Cate Edwards favorite blogs on her father's website: www.johnedwards.com. It's a spicy mix as well, with Gawker rubbing shoulders with us and GenerationEngage.com. Thanks, Cate and Good Luck tonight!

In addition to Domino editor Deborah Needleman, Metropolitan Home editor Donna Warner and a handful of architects and designers, Grace of design*sponge and our own Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan chime in on trends they're ready to show the door...
Home design and the iPhone. We're proud to say that we recently made it into hallowed company, being compared to the iPhone's designer, Jonathan Ive. Over at E-Gear.com, Audrey Gray writes up a great little account of overhauling her home and digging our approach to design: Got to love a can-do man.(Thanks, Emily!)
We're on the list. We're pleased as punch to have been included this morning in PC Magazine's 100 Favorite blogs. Compiled by the staff, it represents those blogs read MOST around the office, and they are not just tech blogs...
Blogs on top of blogs on top of blogs. We just wanted to give a quick shout-out to Ryan, Kelly and Kate over at AT:Home Tech for being picked up by BornRich.org on Monday as Cool Geeks of the Week. They were honored with full bios and favorite posts, joining a list of glowing luminaries such as Jean Aw from NotCot and Brian Ashcraft of Kotaku. We're pleased as punch that our newest blog is out there mixing already!
Newsflash—Blogs! We just retrieved the June issue of
Elle Decor from our mailbox and we were surprised to see Editor in Chief Margaret Russell talking about blogs on the Editor's Page. (ummm, Hello!) Anyway, we're pleased that Apartment Therapy was on her short list of favorite design-minded sites! We're also pleased that Elle Decor's parent company, Hachette Filipacchi is (FINALLY!) addressing the issue of their shelter magazines' web presence. PointClickHome will launch this summer and be a central presence for Hachette's many shelter titles (including Metropolitan Home and Home).
