Besides public restroom toilet paper, is there anything that disappears as quickly, at the most inopportune times, than inkjet printer ink? I don't know how many times I've had the printer sputter to Jackson Pollock-style output due to an unexpected drain in the cartridge reservoirs when I most need the rare paper printout. Then it's off to the home office supply store to pay Beluga caviar-like prices for what amounts to a chipmunk's mouthful of colored water... More

Nowadays we all carry photos anywhere and everywhere, digitally, whether it be on our smartphone, tablet, laptop, or somewhere in the imaginary world of The Cloud. But there's still something charming about physical photos, spotlighting the very best of your memories with a tactile, real world presence. This DIY project offers a wonderful way to spotlight the very best of those photographic memories, converting them from the realm of the digital to the real world to admire and appreciate each and every day. When you're living in a smaller space, it may seem like things get cluttered, disarranged or dirty so much faster. Despite the fact that we could probably just organize or clean more often, wouldn't it be just a bit more fun with these little tools in our lives? More
We've showcased countless examples of an office creatively nestled into a small home's limited space. Some carve a workspace out of a closet, laundry room, or garage. If you're having trouble finding a corner to call your own, or perhaps don't work from home enough to feel a dedicated spot is justified, consider a modular setup. Read on for some tech solutions to fit your entire office in a drawer - assemble as necessary! More
To some extent, we're all photographers these days. With a camera on every phone and digital SLRs coming down in price, we've all got a trove of photos waiting to be shared. When it comes time to share online, print, or email our favorite images, many are unsure about how to set the image's resolution... More
Nothing quite messes with the aesthetic of a carefully curated workspace like a big, bulky printer erupting with a mass of cable spaghetti. Many dwellers decide to hide them in spare closets, but what do you do when your office is a multi-purpose space, like a bedroom? Take a cue from Pamela and hide it inside an IKEA dresser drawer! Samsung Electronics ML-1865W Wireless Monochrome Printer

I don't know about you, but in this age of digital files, instant message and smartphones, I hardly print out anything these days except for mailing shipping labels and the occasional monochrome sheet or two. Our current inkjet photo printer is overkill and most of the color capabilities go unused, so I think I'll be trading it in for this compact wireless laser printer. Rated for 19ppm and up to 1200 x 1200 dpi effective output, it's good and plenty for home office use, and should be about a third smaller than the full size photo printer we're currently using. And best yet, I won't have to replace the toner for 1,500 pages instead of the seemingly "print 10 pages, then refill" cycle with an inkjet.
There seemed to be somewhat of a demand for more information on this 4 years old printer since my Tech Top 10 post this past weekend. The Polaroid PoGo printer has been around since 2008, and has dropped significantly from its original price of $180 to a much more reasonable $50. The printer itself uses Zink, on the proprietary film, to achieve a printing process that doesn't require ink. It's advertised as a "mobile" printer, since it has a fairly small size and receives its data via Bluetooth or USB. Read on to find out what our experience has been with the PoGo printer. More
Everyone is talking about the "cloud", but one company, Berg, is trying to put a happy face to the amorphous concept with the announcement of a technological throwback: a printer. The Little Printer is a wireless connected printing device designed to work less like a sheet-by-sheet household printer and more like a miniature printing press of Tweet-proportions, delivering bite-size daily subscriptions to content you want to receive from the cloud. News, puzzles, messages from friends, a word of the day, horoscopes, the weather report...all configured from your smartphone. More
