- What I Love About My Small Home:
- The sense of creative freedom it triggers. My apartment is my creative playground. It is filled with my own art pieces, like the wallpaper made of photocopies of birds, insects, and planes, or the illustrated 2D bird on the wall that sits on a real 3D branch.

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- Despite its tiny size, the apartment does not look cluttered. Most of all, I like the sliding ladder and the folding dining table. The common wall between the bathroom and the "living room" is also fantastic, not only because it supports the bed, but also because it adds a lot of storage place in the built-in niches.

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- Despite the size, I feel like I never will outgrow the space. It has everything I want in an apartment: charm, function, sunlight, splashes of color, local art and an open layout. My favorite spot is the tiny porch off my bedroom. It gets amazing morning sunlight - perfect for coffee and a newspaper - and then a great view of the Boston skyline at night.

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- The charming, cozy feel that is light and bright. I have chosen to use soft muted colors throughout the space. Stronger accents mostly come through the artwork and a few classic furniture pieces. I love that my home reflects me with my collection of furniture, art, and objects from over the years. There is a nice amount of wall space for me to display my art which makes it double as a gallery space as well. Depending on the pieces that sell and new items I am working on, there is always a fresh feel.

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- Every inch has our design fingerprint on it! Devoid of any personality that a 120-year-old rowhouse should have and with water damage throughout, we gutted everything and refashioned it into a home that denies being small and oozes the character that it should. We put in serious grinding hours to expose brick walls, installed flooring of salvaged barn wood, reclaimed any wood we could from our renovation to use for open shelving, and lifted the 2nd floor ceilings to the roof to expose original beams. To balance the warmth of the aged brick and wood, we folded in a layer of modern—simple, flexible pendant lighting, an acrylic vanity with chrome fixtures, recycled glass countertops accented by glossy white glass upper cabinets, Kristalia barstools, and a simple-form sofa. The rest is personal: artwork by family, rugs carted back from Qatar, copper pots picked from a Paris street market—all jumbled with modest finds from local thrift stores or an occasional stop at a curbside heap.

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- It's cozy! My husband and I grew up primarily on the East coast, and really feel at home and "contained" when living on a smaller scale. I think I'd feel lost living in some of those big, cavernous houses that you find in parts of LA, and sort of like that our tiny place forces us to be "all up in each other's business."

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- The greatest part about living where I do is the history. Charlie Chaplin built this complex in 1924 to house actors who were working at the studios nearby. I feel lucky to get to wake up in a place that had a part in making Hollywood so great. It feels like I live in Snow White's village, and inside my teensy cave is the best place to curl up and read a book or stay in on a rare rainy day. Everywhere you look there are wonky windows, hand carved wood details, and gorgeous stained glass. It's magical. It's hard not to wax poetic...if you came here you would understand!

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- We love that we live here together and that our home reflects who we are. We are minimalists and enjoy living small. But this space never really feels small. It has this great open layout and high ceilings, which gives it a loft-like feel. We also love our community, the artwork that we've created for the apartment, and all the light and love that streams in every day.

- What I Love About My Small Home:
- The contrast to the city outside. It's on the 3rd floor of an incense dusted walk-up building overlooking Hong Kong's oldest temple, yet has a lofty, contemporary feel.
