Marissa and Justin moved into their home two years ago, but never really figured out how to furnish their outdoor space. They use their deck and yard all the time, especially for entertaining, but Marissa doesn't feel like the camping chairs and odds and ends laying around (um, there seems to be a puppet??) make for a particularly inviting space. To show some of the many possible ways to make the most of a backyard, the Apartment Therapy team joined forces with Pier 1 to help Marissa and Justin turn their unfinished space into two beautiful and comfortable outdoor rooms, perfect for entertaining.

Before I ever set foot in Katharine and James' south London home, I knew that it would be beautifully designed to the last detail. We thought our home was doing pretty well in the cleanliness department – until the season changed and a perfect shaft of light came through the window, bringing new illumination to what can only be termed as 'grime' (A line of salty boot scuffs in the entryway! Previously invisible soap scum from all our wintertime bubble baths!). Nothing highlights a winter's worth of mess like a little spring sunshine.
So we were excited to see lifestyle personality Jillian Harris showing off the many uses of one of our favorite secret weapons, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Seriously, this little guy can do anything, all over the house — watch Jillian show off its skills in the video above, then read on for tips on spring cleaning smart, not hard.

All of your ideas & help in deciding the perfect colour for our room were so inspiring. It was a close race, but in the end, Farrow & Ball's Peignoir No. 286 won!
Name: Michelle Konar Location: Upper West Side — Manhattan, New York Size: 330 square feet Years lived in: 2.5 years; Rent
As a student at the Rhode Island School of Design, Michelle learned to hone her creativity. As a graduate she has taken those skills and applied them to her work in advertising, as well as in her home. Unafraid to take on a project, she is always looking for ways to improve her space. Refinishing and repainting furniture that she brings home from vintage stores or flea markets, adding color to her walls and creating custom artwork are just some of the ways that she has personalized her studio on the upper west side of Manhattan.
Some people just know how to make a space feel instantly inviting. Not just 'can I come over for a drink' inviting, but 'can I move in' inviting. Design expert Sabrina Soto is one of those people who knows how to make that sort of special home. In this video, she shares her ideas for making your own home the sort of place that makes people feel deliciously at home, whether you're renting it out or just hosting friends for the weekend.
Last spring, I moved into my first grownup apartment. No dorm furniture, no sad leftovers from a previous roomie and no hand-me-downs… just me and 538 gloriously empty square feet. The prospect of decorating all that space in a way I would be happy with for many years to come? Paralyzing. But I filled that blank space faster that Taylor Swift could write a song about it.
