I've gained 20 pounds in recent months, and while I'm still healthy and happy in my skin, many of my clothes simply don't fit. I'm certainly not going to get rid of all my smaller clothes (nor my larger ones if I lose weight), but being faced with a rack of clothes that don't fit can slow down the dressing process. As much as I like organizing things by type, I might give by-size a whirl...
MoreHaving a hamper in every room where clothes get taken off has really cut down the number of clothes that end up on the floor. But what family wants to give up precious bedroom space for multiple hampers? Solution: hang them on the back of the door!
Boston temperatures reached the 80s last week, but I've yet to break out the sundresses and put away the coats. The warm weather wear is still in the basement, while my puffy jackets are taking up space in the closet. I'm making myself tackle the change this weekend, but what motivates you to switch your clothes out for the season?

Project by: Robert Gil, Casa Kids
Location: Manhattan
Last year I wrote about two common approaches to shared kids' bedrooms: creating one cohesive space for both kids or creating divided, private spaces within a room. Roberto Gil, founder of Casa Kids, gave the best of both worlds to his clients, sisters in downtown Manhttan, with this creatively designed room.
MoreMy bi-fold pantry door is an eyesore. It has a fake woodgrain and blocks the left side of the shelves when it's opened. But it's an unusual size, so finding an off-the-shelf or salvage replacement has been impossible. I thought about converting it à la Jason's closet-door hack, but then I stumbled upon Ashley's attractive solution. While she didn't have a bi-fold to begin with, her door replacement would work for just about any ugly door, including mine.
A den, attic, or even a closet can be turned over and transformed into a brand new workspace with the right pieces. But building out a two-fer — keeping the room functional for its original purpose and adding in a second office zone — well, that's tougher. We've seen it done with bedrooms and kitchens, but never in one of these three spaces.
MoreName: Amy Pigliacampo
Location: Echo Park, Los Angeles, California
Size: 264 square feet
Last week we got a full tour of Amy Pigliacampo and her husband Corey Szopinski's home in Echo Park. One of the standout features was their organization, which remained stylish, but super functional. Amy's office, which is both her work studio and closet, is an incredible example of this streamlined collectedness.
