Move over geometrics, because large scale and bright flowers are taking over in a big way.
Living in London, it's easy to get caught up in holiday daydreams. Besides the hustle and bustle of city life, the weather on this side of the pond has been somewhat, er, disappointing this summer. With rain every day and temperatures barely in the teens, I'm longing to escape the city for a country cottage or rustic farmhouse, somewhere where the sun is always shining and I can see rolling green hills from my window. I always look forward to escaping the Missouri heat and humidity by heading back home to Vermont in the summer. There's nothing I'd rather do than tube down our clear (cold!) rivers, eat real maple creemies, and hike in the woods.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the woods, my dream retreat would be a simple, rustic cabin away from the usual hubbub of the city. Coffee on the porch, early morning hikes and afternoons free to delve into a book or sit and write… minus the deadlines. More
Ahhh Mexico. I took my vacation there earlier this year with a mid-winter escape and I'm still dreaming of the beach, the infinity pool and the daily margaritas and tacos. It was my first post-college (post-spring break) Mexican vacation and I found that my views of the country had changed. If I were to use my wardrobe as room inspiration, this summer it would be colorblocked with cyan, magenta, and yellow. I've been steadily scooping of fun neon pieces to add to my closet, and the bright primaries of printing turn just as many heads in a room as they do on the street. More
With all the time spent sitting in an office space, be it in a home office or otherwise, why not add a few items that help make the space feel less like work and more like home? Replacing a standard tape holder with an eye catching gold version or swapping out a standard waste basket with a brightly colored one will do wonders for the ambiance of your office. Adding in extra seating in an unexpected form or a cheerful sunflower hued lamp brings a bit of the warmth of home into the office. More
The space I most enjoy in my own home is the living room. So for this living room inspiration, I want the space to be comfortable, bright, and fun. I take my home decor with a spoonful of tech, so you know there's going to be a couple of goodies in that arena. For me, the yellow says smile, the grey adds warmth and the beautiful dyed rug just puts the whole vibe on mellow — so I guess that's why they call it the blues. More
When Pantone announced that Tangerine Tango was to be the color of the year, the world of design took notice. Orange furniture and accessories are definitely having a moment. If you are thinking about adding the hue to your living room, here are some ideas, big and small for getting the look. From throw pillows to arm chairs, the color can be integrated as a major focal point or as a small pop of color. Either way, orange will definitely brighten up a room. More
When I began creating this inspiration board for my dream living room, I had no idea what I was going to end up with. As a designer there are so many pieces of furniture, finishes and decor types I can appreciate (and covet), so I was worried the end result would be slightly chaotic. More
