This past week, I went to our friends' very modern and beautifully open house for Thanksgiving. Every year for the past few years they've been taking folks in and growing their meal, until it reached over twenty this past Thursday. I took pics from start to finish to share what was a really beautiful mix of old and new styles and a very modern Thanksgiving. There's a lot here to copy (and you can see more of the house here). Enjoy! More

For me, it's not the shopping I hate (although I do kind of hate shopping) — it's the crowds. I would pay money not to have to wade through a bunch of people and lines just in the name of good deals. I always think that Thanksgiving is a very Apartment Therapy-ish holiday - a day that is centered around appreciating what you have and celebrating home, regardless of whether it's in the actual physical space or simply with people that make us feel safe and happy. Last November on this day, I shared some wonderful reader Thanksgiving stories and this year, I'm following up with more, this time with a focus on some less-traditional ways to enjoy the day. Have fun reading them, share your own memories and traditions in the comments and know that all of us at Apartment Therapy wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving! More

When it comes to setting your dining table sometimes simple is best. Keeping classics on hand ensure a clean, chic, timeless table, regardless of the season or holiday. Neutral colors and natural materials always look great solo, together, or mixed in with special occasion wares. More
As the holiday season rolls in, it can feel like we're supposed to be diving into a constant stream of tinsel-filled parties, big happy family dinners, and presents galore. Some years the holidays are awfully bittersweet, and some years the season is just flat out difficult. Whether it's financial strain, family issues, illness, loss of a loved one, or something else getting you down, this time of year can be tough! More
