When my two year old developed an obsession with cars, trucks, buses, tractors (all things wheeled), I searched and searched for a "road rug" for him to drive on; you know, the rugs designed with ribbons of black with white dashes winding all around, sometimes with scenes of farms or cities printed on them. After a long search, I was relieved to save some money by finding we already had a really cool rug road right under our noses:

Due to a last minute change in party dates, I had no time to order pretty party supplies from my favorite places. I was able to order some swirly lollipops and miniature horses as favors (thank you Amazon Prime), but ultimately the local Party City and I had to kiss and make up after several years of avoiding one another. I purchased tons of crepe streamers, a little bit of gold foil wrapping paper, and a few honeycomb balls and called it good. 

Here in Illinois, we've got 3-5 more inches of snow forecast for the evening, and here in the house, I've got a bad case of cabin fever. Time to bust out the chainsaws and the lightsabers! More

This sweet little bedroom for two was lovingly decorated by a mom of two young girls — she took handmade items, family heirlooms, and things her daughters love and made a nurturing, welcoming space for both of them to call home. More
