Having previously lived in an apartment about the same size as the home that writers Johanna and Mike share, I am acutely aware of how challenging it is to make a space that lacks in square footage feel spacious. That's why I was so impressed by how comfortable and roomy their home feels.

Last week we got a full tour of Amy Pigliacampo and her husband Corey Szopinski's home in Echo Park. One of the standout features was their organization, which remained stylish, but super functional. Amy's office, which is both her work studio and closet, is an incredible example of this streamlined collectedness.

On the left side of a cozy little duplex in Ballard (the tour of the other half is coming up next week), Chika Eustace and her husband Jared Randall live with their son Lisle in a colorful and creative space. The duplex (sweetly referred to as "The Dupe") is co-owned by Chika and Jared, along with Chika's business partner Jean and her fiance, Dylan. Chika and Jean own R&L Goods, a textiles and accessories company, and the two couples have found a serene and productive way to combine work and life.

I have been following BLIK for years and am thoroughly intrigued by how many different ideas and uses they find for wall decals. Yes, you can use a wall decal as a headboard. Don't have a plant in your house? Not a problem — a wall decal will do. I got really excited when I had the opportunity to take a peek into the co-founder's home to see just how he mixes BLIK decals with his contemporary decor.

Name: Sophie and Nick with Ivy (5) and Sylvie (3)
Location: Stretford, Manchester, England

I love to see homes where people have fun and aren’t afraid to experiment with their decorating. This colorful family home in Manchester, England is exactly that, as each room is a riot of color and pattern. The living room features wallpaper with sprawling green leaves by William Morris at Sanderson, one of the children’s rooms is accented with canary yellow woodwork, and a rainbow striped stair runner winds its way through the entire house.

Location: Robbinsdale, Minnesota

With one look at her son Keane's room, it's clear that this is not Kara's first time around the nursery-decorating block. Having learned a few lessons with her first son, Kara said she had a better idea this time around of what to include (and what not to include) in the room. She and her husband, Bill, salvage and restore mid-century modern furniture, a clear inspiration for the room, which flawlessly incorporates a woodland theme and playful colors with minimalist, streamlined pieces.

I came across Danny and Christy's amazing home online while hunting down lodging for a few funky-fresh out of town visitors we were expecting. I wanted to find them a place that was fun, unique and totally unexpected — a place that would represent Denver's arts and design community and possibly encourage them to move! Once I'd laid eyes upon this hundred year old church/Masonic lodge/Mexican restaurant/burrito factory/home, I knew I had to share it with the Apartment Therapy community.

Judy Ross has two boys, aged 10 1/2 and 16, who share a room in a small Manhattan apartment. Not only is their room neat, organized and stylish, but the rest of the apartment is impeccably designed. This means that Judy has two boys who have learned not only how to keep track of their things, but also how to respect and enjoy design.

Judy, pillow, fabric, and rug designer extraordinaire, grew up in Queens and thrives with her two boys, aged 10 and 16, in a beautifully arranged, crisply curated, and well maintained 600 square foot, 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of Manhattan.
