In 2009 we spent an unforgettable week in a renovated farmhouse in Tuscany with friends who have been going there for over a decade. Off the beaten track, up a long dirt road, the house was isolated, but had a terrific sunset view looking down over olive trees and vinyards. We ate wild cherries and mulberries off of the trees, made pizza outside in the wood-fired oven and spotted wild boars running through the trees at dusk. Oh yes, and there was a pool. :-)
Since I spent some time touring some of the natural beauty in my hometown, I figured I'd take a stroll through one of the city's most beautiful historic districts. Now considered to be a lush oasis in downtown Lexington, Gratz Park was originally established outside of the city's limits in 1781. More
A few weeks ago I went to Palm Springs, California for a wedding and I found myself in an architectural time warp. Here are a few pics of a trip we took to Mustique, courtesy of a friend's family, which is one of those special places. More
Before I'd ever been to Texas, I used to picture the Lone Star State as a dusty desert, filled with dude ranches, cowboys and cattle. Perhaps watching too many TV westerns gave me an incorrect perception of the totality of Texas landscapes. More
