You might want to get chopping and wood working and you can DIY your own version of this amusing iPad dock from Twisted Twee, unremarkably called the I-Log. This could be cute if you live in a log cabin, but we're not so sure about paying $60 for something you can make yourself with a little extra time and woodworking tools. What do you think?
Simon Nielson of BLACK Design Associates just shot us over these design concept renders which marry the optical features of the venerated and coveted Leica M9 camera body with the computing/tech powers of an iPhone 4. The concept design proposes an iPhone 4 case which moves far beyond just an exterior case and extending the photo and video quality in tandem. What do you think?
Bang & Olufsen released this promotional video in conjunction with the announcement of their behemoth flagship BeoVision 4 85" 3D plasma television. You don't realize how huge this aluminum encased and automated beast display (elevates and tilts via remote) is until the end of the commercial when the model passes the behemoth set. What do you think? Amazing or overkill?
In recent years small space dwellers with a love of surround sound have been able to enjoy a limited version of true cinematic immersion via single soundbar audio speaker solutions. We use an older Yamaha model ourselves and in the right conditions, the effects are noticeably better than almost any built-in system and even some low end surround sound systems (though not many). The other benefit of these soundbar speakers is they're perfect for small space living. But what if you could integrate a soundbar directly into your HDTV set? That's what Bose did with their VideoWave HDTV, with 16 discreet speakers (plus 6 subwoofers)...
We've always been big fans of Bang & Olufsen, but primarily admire their pre-1980 designs, specifically the designs of Jacob Jensen. Their contemporary designs have been hit and miss, both in design and tech specs, and we're on the fence about this new BeoSound 8 iPod/iPhone/iPad speaker dock. We're so-so about the design on the surface, but like it when wall-mounted. What do you think?
