What better way to liven up the kitchen than with a pop of color decorating the fridge? This can come in the form of a new retro fridge or older classic appliance; a patterned decal or DIY chalkboard paint job. My grandmother still has a mustard yellow refrigerator from the 70's — beautifully maintained I might add — and it makes me smile every time I visit. So here are a few kitchens with personality, courtesy of the fridge of course! More
In our search for a furnished apartment in Paris (where I just moved this week!) there were two things that I absolutely insisted on: a queen sized bed and an oven. I felt like this was not a lot to ask for, but, oh how wrong I was! It turns out that both are extremely rare in Paris. More
We got an email over the weekend sharing a bold creative solution to the problem of a big boxy white fridge. Due to the layout in her home, Titti's refrigerator sits in the corner of the adjacent dining room - making the utilitarian appliance seem extra big and bland. I spent a few hours yesterday at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show and, among other things, got a good dose of stove lust as a number of the high end range companies were there. Amidst all the big, beefy grills and brightly colored dials, I felt myself strongly influenced by the look and feel of each of the grills and longing for something that seemed original with not too many bells and whistles. So I decided to pull together a list of all the MOST BEAUTIFUL range companies I knew (money, no object) so you'd have plenty of eye candy on this rainy Monday and also so you'd have a starting point for the day you outfit your dream home. Enjoy!

Maybe it's our habit of always living in older apartments or just our Mid-Century Modern sensibilities, but we love the aesthetics of a retro stove, and know we're not alone!
