It's no secret that we have a little thing for barns and we completely fell for this historic English cathedral barn, located in the Catskill Mountain Park Preserve and built in 1876. In 1977 the barn was purchased by architectural writer Ernest Burden who used the home as inspiration for his book, Living Barns: How to Find and Restore a Barn of Your Own. In the early 1990s, David Brown purchased the property and converted it from a summer home to a place his family could live for all seasons. Are we alone in lusting for this space? Do you have a thing for barns?
We don't love the multi-colored paint, though. The first thing we'd do is slap on a coat of white paint. Can't you picture how spectacular a bright white would look against that fantastic barn wood?
