Day of the Dead, Diwali, or Shichi-Go-San. Shichi-Go-San (meaning "7,5,3") is celebrated on November 15th in Japan. According to Wikipedia, it is "to celebrate the growth and well-being of young children". It is traditionally observed for 3 and 7 year old girls and 5 year old boys (though some families include 3 year old boys as well) who are dressed up (in kimono) and taken to a shrine. The reward for being dressed and photographed on that day is a long red and white stick candy ("chitose ame") baring health and growth symbols.
