This may look like just another concept, but these ceramic speakers are actually being manufactured by designer Joey Roth -- he also made the plushy mouse we posted about. Each speaker can only pump out 10-watts per channel, though, as Engadget points out, "each 4-inch full-range driver is housed in an acoustically dead porcelain and cork chamber that should do quite a lot with quite a little."
The speakers, which can be pre-ordered soon, are expected to sell for betweenr $400 to 500. A little pricey, but you do have to spend a premium to own something this unique.
Maxwell spotted these at the NY International Gift Fair and emailed us about them. If you aren't already, subscribe to Apartment Therapy's Daily email by adding your address in the left hand corner of AT's main site, so you don't miss all of Maxwell's finds.
