We're here in Las Vegas for CES, the annual Consumer Electronics Show, and there's plenty to report about: razor sharp and thin high definition displays, the explosion of 3D technologies, tablets galore, and online service integration with home entertainment devices to name just a few of the most prominent trends being pushed at booths. We're delving back into the belly of beast all day today to snap more photos and learn about what's in the pipeline for 2010. But we did want to share what was one of our favourite sightings of the show thus far before we head back: this huge framed digital art display showcasing a selection of digital artists showcased over at the Microsoft Zune area (which happens to include one of our longtime fav artists, Meomi!)
What we were certainly impressed with comparing last year's show with this years is the refinement of high resolution with lower energy consumption, with several of the best displays using a quarter of the power from just one year ago thanks to energy saving solutions like LED backlighting and area specific on/off control (which results in deeper blacks and contrast as a bonus).
More to come...back into the rabbit hole we go!
