CES 2009: Hitachi's Prototype Hakuichi LCD Frames and Stands

Electronics manufacturers made it clear this CES that home electronics were being designed not just technological solutions, but as decor friendly pieces that would add, rather than detract, to our homes. Case and example are these various finished prototype LCD sets from Hitachi with beautiful wood finish frames done with gold leaf decorative accents and completed with a traditional fold-out screen which was specifically designed to operate as the display's mount and stand...

The Style Unlimited corner of Hitachi's booth consisted of about 7 displays with unique finishes and complimenting stands. Some were nicely executed, while others like the arc-shaped stand seemed dated despite the up-to-date technology sitting ontop.

The beautiful faux bois finish sparkled and glowed depending upon the angle.

We were having problems focusing on the display because the wagashi mochi displayed kept reminding us we were in dire need of lunch.
