Okay, we know you didn't really go for the decorative caulking in designer Cynthia Rowley's house. We do, however, like one more child-like detail recently spotted in the same home. She's taking the chalkboard-in-the-home-craze literally, hanging an old-school one right in the hallway...
The newspaper dunce cap on a stool is probably just a prop for this shoot, but we love how it echoes the classroom vibe of the chalkboard. We think this works here, where the walls are kept white and the chalkboard's hanging on the wall instead of becoming the wall. It lets the beautiful hallway remain as-is and the chalkboard is a temporary addition like a piece of artwork. Via: Something Beautiful Journal

It's a fun thought but I think it would be like any other novelty. Soon the appeal would fade and then you have the same funny face on the wall for 6 months.

I used to have something very similar... though beautiful to look at, it's quite the pain when you gently brush by it on your way out of the house. Yikes.
I'm not liking it much.
Chalkboards: The fad of the early 21st Century.
I like the way this is done... me thinks I may have to do that someday in a room with not so much foot-traffic.
