Name: Charisse
Location: West Allis, Suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin
My Apartment is 1250 square feet. I cannot paint — it is basic white. Everyone who comes over comments on how I was able to make it a home (even those who live in high end big houses). 90% of my furniture is from Craigslist, 5% from second hand stores and 5% new but clearance.
I have repainted, reuphostered, restained just about every piece of furniture in my house. Mind you, before this I had never reupholsted a thing. I got my inspiration from Elle Decor, Decor, House Beautiful, Country French Mags and Rate my Spacers. The living, dining and kitchen are what I call Eclectic French, with red being the primary color. I transformed my master bedroom into the den with a more ethnic look using warm copper and chocolate as the color. In my bedroom I decided to go with all ivory with just a touch of rose, the style being Romantic Country. Yes, I like every part of my space to reflect a different part of my taste. I am very eclectic!
Thanks, Charisse !

This is really charming - I'd like to see the other rooms mentioned!
It is eclectic - and very cozy
I like the collections of vintage chairs and tables alot...
...would be interested in seeing more.
The chairs are definitely my favorite part of this (although the white couch is beautiful). They're the part that most strongly say "French" to me, but the whole feeling has the eclectic aspect.
I truly like what I've seen so far. Loooove those black poufs...Kudos to you!
Agree, i'd love to see other rooms as well! how did you learn to reupholster on your own? i'd love some tips!
I'm really impressed that you have managed to get just the right amount of bright color to make the white walls become a foil rather than a handicap -- the balance is perfect! Nicely done!
Nicely done! An inviting mixture of styles.
SO SHOCKED to see West Allis, WI featured on my favorite site!! I grew up in West Allis and am now in New York City. I love that fireplace and it is very uncharacteristic of typical 'stallis homes. Nice to see! You make it work without paint. I would love to see more of the space.
Its eclectic but its not typically French.
Also chiming in to say I'm SHOCKED to see 'Stallis on AptTx. I live in Milwaukee but my office is in West Allis-- this home is great!
Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I would love to post more. But I am not sure how that works. Thanks for visiting and thanks Apartment Therapy for posting my pics.
