Name: Charlotte (2.5)
Location: Cairo, Egypt (pictured at Giza)
Favorite Family-Friendly Place To See or Thing To Do Here: The day we spent touring the pyramids was her favorite day. She got to run around in the desert (Dahsur--Bent Pyramid--was the best sight b/c it was least crowded) and she thought seeing the pyramids was cool.

Best Tip for Traveling with Kids: Build up the trip before you go! We got one of the DK travel guides and she would look at the pictures with her Dad. We also got some kids books and a Little Einstein DVD that had some Egypt content. When we got there, she was excited to spot minarets out the car windows and even in the Egyptian Museum (not her favorite day b/c she had to stay in the stroller), we had some "find the x" diversions to keep her entertained.

Favorite Way to Make it Feel Like Home: Bring her favorite snacks if you are going somewhere with unfamiliar food. She ate way more Disney Princess fruit gummies than I would prefer or ever allow at home, but it really seemed to make her feel better (and for those of you who go this route, excellent rewards for good behavior).

An Item you MUST Take With You While Traveling: I love the Fly Safe harness (5 point harness for kids on airplanes; even though we took a car seat to use in Cairo, not lugging it around the airport is awesome. I would note that at 2 and half, Charlotte barely met the height requirement. But we use it all the time now.

Thanks Reilly!
