What I Love About My Small Home:
What I love about my home is it encompasses warmth and is a space where tranquil is infused with curiosity and I am surrounded by the design that influences me. My aesthetic was to create a classic home that is a time travel to a simple Victorian period with a modern twist. I hunt for unique pieces with characteristics that make my apartment whimsical and otherworldly. I was able to accomplish this by selecting seating that combines the natural tones of linen and are elegantly constructed from elaborately carved wood with matching legs and beautiful curved lines. The medallion side chairs add the element of French romanticism and play off the shade of my tufted sofa and large arm chair. I modernized and lit up the space by juxtaposing a mirrored side table and a contemporary white square coffee table.
Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Small Space::
The biggest challenge of living in a small space is making a functional home and having stylish storage solutions and accessories since everything is within sight. In order to create a successful and organized home I selected visually appealing pieces of furniture & placed them in the right areas. For my storage I used the multi functioning kitchen island which has a tabletop, counter top for cooking with two shelves for storage (which is hidden from the rest of the apartment by a divider). This island defined and separated my kitchen from the living room. The green antique credenza is where I openly store my serving pieces & glasses. The credenza desk functions as a secondary work surface with small drawers and secret storage compartments. I then decorated my home with a curated collection of eclectic treasures from around the world. Buying diverse accessories over time creates an open storybook and adds a layered wonderland to my home.
