- What I Love About My Small Home:
- What I love most about my small home is that I have a bedroom, living room (which also doubles as a guest room) and kitchen in 300 square feet.
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- The biggest challenge about living in a small space is that I have to look at everything I own from every section of my apartment. Each piece I picked, from the furniture to the dishware, was selected and arranged in a decorative way. So I don't mind staring at the dishes in my cabinet from my bedroom.

I love this apartment with the exception of the coffee table. Nicely done. Glamorous AND cozy.
Excellent choices and positioning of pieces to define various uses within such a small space. Hard to say enough good things about it. Just lovely.
I love it! And it harks back to the roots of early AT, which I really miss.
Wow..lots of stuff, but oddly, I didn't feel cramped while going through the photos. I love it!!
This wonderful teeny space that reminds me of an Edwardian city flat - lots of furniture, the new and old blending very nicely - a little bit Merchant Ivory (all those subtle textures and shapes in muted colours and no naked walls).
Kudos to Charlotte for producing great results in a truly small space. (I love love love).
Not my style at all but a really great job of high style in a very small space. BRAVA!
I don't usually comment, but this is an AMAZING and beautiful apartment in such a small space. Very well done!
All that lush wainscoting and ceiling beams in such a small space -- somehow that amuses me, but in a good way! Kind of like a closet pretending to be a castle! (Nicely done!)
Very well done. I second the comment about this being reminiscent of the early AT days, which I also very much miss. The first couple years of the contest/entries were so much better than the subsequent years have been.
Gorgeous! Love all the sophisticated feminine pieces.
It's amazing! You have done a great job with the position of the furniture... particularly the kitchen table!
Wow, so gorgeous. Love all the different wood textures.
This is fabulous. You have taken some very eclectic items and assembled them in a way that ends up with an apartment with incredible personality. I can not believe how little storage you have! Really, just that teeny closet and under the bed? That's discipline.
I love absolutely everything about your apartment! The space itself is so interesting and full of character; the ceilings, the floor, the walls, the window... so small, and yet so full of magnificent details. And architecture aside, I am so envious of all your beautiful stuff! The distressed cabinet is amazing, the chairs are great, the barstools are incredible (where did you find those?!)... You've managed to combine many different styles in a very tiny space and still have everything feel cohesive, nothing awkward or out of place. It just works. Honestly, I wish I could climb into my computer and experience the magical little world you've created firsthand! Bravo!!
I love it! I'm going home to rearrange my studio now.
Stunning! Gorgeous! Bravo!
What a beautiful use of space! You've kept a consistent theme and it works so well.
Oh my gosh! How did you get so much classic coolness in such a tiny space??!
Your place made me *smile*. You get my vote. That big mirror is nice and your kitchen is adorable.
That wainscoting is to die for. Stunning place. Each picture gets better and better. Love.
Yes!
Absolutely the best so far!!!! I wish I had your talent (and your space:) Really....wonderfully done!
Love it! Feels like you live above (below?) some funky British or Irish pub that's collected the hand-offs from several generations. Enjoy it!
Really nice place! I especially like the grouping of pictures on the wall. The whole place looks well thought out...but not overly curated.
This home is beautiful. The owner doesn't try to be too modern or have lots of open space, so you get so much density without the space being crazy. I love it.
Cute & cosy like a little cottage. You could write a novel in this den.
Wonderful job!
This so different from `mainstream` decor ideas- but it is lovely!! You clearly have great taste!

WOW!!!
Agree with all previous posts and just want to add it looks (and seems like it feels like) the inside of a little velvet-lined jewel box. I used to have an apt. in NY with that type of wainscoting and miss it so much - excellent design element.
Bravo Charlotte! Bravo.
Wow!...how did you do it??? Amazing! I can imagine how cute your bathroom must be!
This looks like somewhere that a classy grown-up with exquisite taste resides.
You rock.
Yep, I'm drooling. Love this. Good bones and then the feel of what you've done is amazing.

I LOVE THIS!!!!
Fab. My jaw has dropped. Charlotte sensibiliy in full bloom.
wonderful, wonderful, wonderful
You've done such a great job- kudos!
Your finest claret, please. Fabulous.
I wish I could 'favorite' twice - this place is fantastic!
Amazing! I would definitely hire you as my decorator!
Love the hidden kitchen. You are the 1st to take the best picture of your entire place in one shot. Nice job.
Charlotte FTW! the kitchen table really is the best, it looks so perfect there I thought it was built in. There are distinct spaces but the entire apartment has a cohesive feel. I agree with previous posters that the current contest has lost the spirit of earlier years. One bedroom apartments should be in a separate category! It's so challenging in a studio to create different functional spaces (something Charlotte did flawlessly) and the one bedrooms have an unfair advantage.
THIS IS THE BEST APARTMENT I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!!
What a fantastically beautiful use of a teeny tiny space, Charlotte!
I want to thank everyone for all your lovely comments about my home!
When the doors opened to this apartment I was in love with all the detail. Since I have a tight budget it’s been a 2-year process decorating my apartment. Which has helped with the layering look. I would fall in love with a piece of furniture then spend a few months saving for it and by the time I would buy the piece it was on sale!
LAMPEAM – In addition to my closet and under my bed, my kitchen island (from Ikea) has shelving on the reverse side. I also use one of my kitchen cabinets as storage and not for food. I also have a small dresser between the island and sofa, but you can’t really see it.
BRECCALOVES - The distressed cabinet is from one of my favorite stores Lillian and August. The chair is from Restoration Hardware. The barstools are from Ikea (although I got them for free when my office closed down last year).
Wonderful. Collected spaces are always more interesting than having things look like they came from one store/style. You have great taste. It must be a pleasure to come home every night.
Beautiful space...just wondering about the bathroom?
WOW. This is GREAT.
WOW I have never seen a cooler apartment EVER!!
Tiny, but feels like a real home. The spirit of this place seems to ignore the tininess and live large.
This house is lovely. Love the mixture of things. I´d love to know where you got the mirrors.
That's an awfully impressive space! Well done.
This is definitely my winner. I could move in right away and not change a single thing. Bravo!
Beautiful!
Its a might smaller than my duck blind, but I reckon my dog would take a fancy to it. You need more camp and a deer head or two on the wall and I think you'd be fine.
LOVE. IT. I am seriously inspired!
lovely, but too many seating for me. Good job tho :)
Awesome! I am always amazed at what people can do with such small spaces. I live in the west coast where we have super-sized mc-mansions and don't find them as lovely and homey as some of these entries. Great job!
lovely! like a museum of beautiful things. i don't know if i would survive with so much furniture in such a small space, but it's obviously working for you and looks beautiful. :)
love the bedside table and the arrangement on the coffee table.
Curated with a capital C. Nicely done. Fantastic use of texture and beloved objects.
Exquisite taste. The most beautiful place in this contest...by far.
This is the type of space this contest should truly be about. LOVE it!!!
Very luxurious for as small as it is.
I love that you decorated the place as if it was a much larger apartment and really reference the insanely wonderful wood paneling and beams. timeless and beautiful.
Charlotte, I love the breakfast bar separating the kitchen from the rest of the room. But more than that, I love the eclectic collection of cool, interesting, beautiful things. --Sally
i love this; i like spaces that look like old-time curio shops and yours does because of some of the height you added. would have LOVED to see bathroom though! very pretty!!
I would never be able to leave. This is the best entry so far!
The many small frames on the wall make the room too busy. Otherwise this is a wonderful use of space.
This is my favorite!! I'm not lying, I've pored over entry so far, and this is just fabulous. I actually was inspired to buy faux coral for my own home (you can see two pieces of coral used as decor in her first pic) just by this post! And I love it! You've surrounded yourself by beautiful things, every day must be a treat:)
Thank you to everyone for all your amazing comments! I makes me feel so happy that everyone loves my teeny tiny apartment.
My intention was to create a space that had all the elements and warmth of a home. It didn’t matter to me that its only 300 square feet in New York City. Most of the time I cant wait to get home it feels that delightful. Also, I wanted to buy pieces of furniture and accessories that would transition into a future apartment.
I feel like I'm looking at a room in "Downton Abbey". And, believe me, I mean that in a very good way. You go girl.
This is an incredible little space to begin with, but you have really made it so beautiful! Love it!
Love the old-timey vibe of this. Just wonderful.
Got my vote, Charlotte.
This is - without a doubt - my favourite space EVER.
You have exquisite taste.
Now - please tell me, where did you get your couch? It's perfect for a small space!
Thank you Susan! I bought the sofa from Ikea and accessorized it with silk pillows from Lillian and August
Great use of small space
Where did you get that fabulous rectangle mirror? I have been looking for mirrors and they are all far too expensive for my budget.
