When I turned my son's nursery into his 'big boy room' I wanted to create a place that was fun, inspiring and had 'zones (play, sleep, read/hang out).
The main colour inspiration came from some great Owl themed bedding that I wanted to use! As such, I pulled my colour palette from the inspiration fabric. I reused most of the furniture from his nursery, except for a new table and chairs and a second hand Craigslist bed!
I think the neatest part of his new room is the reading nook (complete with lights) that I created out of his standard sized closet. Fun large stripes help define the space and front facing picture ledges make great book shelves. I also created custom art and made him a little gallery wall in the nook as well.
