Here are all the "before" spaces...a few of the "afters" under the jump.

The term "home theater" has expanded for most to include any space converted and optimized for enjoying our favourite TV and movies from the comfort of our own home. Sometimes this means just a large display partnered up with a solid multi-speaker sound system and a comfy couch. But for others it means converting a whole space specifically for the task of a wholly immersive experience. Here are a handful of before and after home theater projects showcasing the possibilities of when dreams come true from the folks over at CEPro...

CEPro's 5 Awesome Home Theater Makeovers roundup goes beyond showcasing small upgrades and highlights full-blown renovations of under utilized or ignored spaces like garages and basements, with the owners spending a healthy amount of change to convert them into their own movie theaters. All these projects are in the category or professionally installed/designed spaces, but they're sure fun to look at from the perspective of this apartment dweller.

A former ho-hum playroom is now a roomy 13 person home theater with an expansive 115" screen, illuminated with a professional quality Runco projector, Velodyne sub, RBH speakers and a dark interior colour scheme that makes the movie image the center of attention.

How many of us waste the garage as a catch-all junk and miscellaneous storage area? Instead of cluttering and hoarding, this project made use of the space more constructively.

A beach house basement converted into a stellar theater with a Panasonic 3000 projector and Control4 automation as the foundation.
