Red lipstick took off as a trend last year, for good reason — it's flattering and adds just the right amount of drama to an outfit. A cherry red sofa can have the same desirable effect on your living space.

Is it just me or does that last one look more orangey-brown? In general, I am a sucker for a red velvet couch and love the ones in pictures one and eight. Maybe my love stems from the red velvet couch and love seat that my parents had while I was growing up. I am now debating how to reupholster the couch and chaise lounge I currently own. I would love to do red velvet, but I already have a red velvet chair in the room. There are lots of red accents throughout my house, but everything else is more neutral. Should I do several shades of red or should I introduce a new color, perhaps purple? If you want to see pictures of the room here is the link, https://capeofdreams.wordpress.com/2013/02/11/she-got-hers-heres-his/
Me, I'd go red-orange or coral.
That last one is amazing. Now I'm wondering if I could pull this off in my living room...hmmm
This list is only missing one thing: these red leather Chesterfields.

Gorgeous!!!
I have a couch similar to #6. I've had it for about 3 years now (purchased new). I like it, but after a while I started wishing I had chosen something more neutral. Finding throw pillows that 1) I like and 2) that match seems impossible. I have the same issue with area rugs, too. Just something for my fellow red couch lovers to keep in mind... :)
I have 2 custom red leather chairs in the living room. I have 2 red leather Ekornes chairs in the TV room. I have a red flip couch in the spare bedroom. Can you tell I love red?
Love the last couch... it's the only one that looks comfy enough to spend an afternoon reading on!
A red sofa is a bold choice but I love how it really spices up a room and commands your attention. My favorites are the 1st couch and the one in image 8. They look so plush and comfy!
I have a red Ikea Karlstadt sofa and it's great. It's the largest piece in the room (the room is small) and it really anchors it. @decoratinfoo I have lots of throw cushions in various patterns that are all variations on dark blue and white. I also think black and white cushions look fantastic on a red sofa.
I have a pair of Ward Bennett loveseats in my living room upholstered in red Maharam wool plush. They are fabulous. I love them.
I did a red sofa about 8 years ago. Couldn't wait to replace it with something more neutral and went for a mustardy beige this time. It has its issues too! For the most part, paint is hard unless you like white or apparently brick. I did find peace with a gray living room and a very few shades of green. But it was tricky.
I <3 my big "paprika" sofa with hidden bed from Arhaus. It's so warm and inviting! I was afraid when we moved from our old apartment (grey, dingy carpets and off-white walls) to our new place (cherry stained oak floors and beige walls) that it would be too warm toned, but it actually looks like a cool toned red in the new setting and I still love it!
Now I just need a new area rug for the living room because the old one was purchased for a smaller space and looks dinky now.
