Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed that I'm obsessed with floors lately. Last week we looked at the difference between chevron and herringbone parquet patterns, but that wasn't enough for me! Feed my obsession with me and check out this gallery of delicious floors. Which pattern do you prefer?
The only pitfall to having these floors that I can imagine is that I might forget to have any furniture on top of it. I can't pick a favorite. Can you?

Loving chevrons here. I love that pattern so much, I'm using it in my kitchen with rectangulat tiles. It's beautiful too !
Yeah I love the chevron here too. Very subtle!
LOVE the first apt...drool...
Hardwood porn.
Pun intended.
If I could have any one of them in my home, then it would be #9.
Herringbone
It's not just the floor, it is the height of the ceilings, windows and doors, otherwise it would look like almost nothing.
I love them both but if forced to choose, I think I prefer the herringbone by a nose. Perhaps it's the way the boards interlace. There's a little more complexity to the pattern.
zarazame I disagree. While the other architectural details DEFINITELY add to the beauty of the rooms -- those floors are damn nice on their own.
I especially love the herringbone
I like 2, 6 and 8 the best.
I agree with zarazame,
Honestly, I don't get the chevron trend. It's alright when used in moderation, but everyone's all-of-a-sudden going ape-$#!+ and putting it on everything.
That being said, I do love these floors, not because it fits into the chevron trend, but because you don't see them that often (if at all) in Canada/the USA. They are usually very old and in beautiful apartments in Central Europe and Scandinavia. The pattern, patina, colour and setting all contribute to their beauty.
I love them both, but the herringbone would be much easier to reproduce, as you can use regular rectangular plants of wood, or bricks, etc. To recreate the chevron, they would have to be precisely cut, at an angle, to form that point. All of these floors are gorgeous!
