The only pitfall to having these floors that I can imagine is that I might forget to have any furniture on top of it. I can't pick a favorite. Can you?

Herringbone
It's not just the floor, it is the height of the ceilings, windows and doors, otherwise it would look like almost nothing.
I love them both but if forced to choose, I think I prefer the herringbone by a nose. Perhaps it's the way the boards interlace. There's a little more complexity to the pattern.
zarazame I disagree. While the other architectural details DEFINITELY add to the beauty of the rooms -- those floors are damn nice on their own.

I like 2, 6 and 8 the best.
I love them both, but the herringbone would be much easier to reproduce, as you can use regular rectangular plants of wood, or bricks, etc. To recreate the chevron, they would have to be precisely cut, at an angle, to form that point. All of these floors are gorgeous!
