Does anyone know how to find/change the email address for my AT profile? When I goto 'Edit Your Profile", it's not listed. I've emailed AT 3 times, asking this very question, any no one has ever responded. Help.
Does anyone know a good source for interior doors with glass panels? Could even be plexiglass.
I've looked into two big ones, Trustile and Signamark, but am wondering if anyone has experience with any other sources.
I would just like to see something besides snow outside.
It is almost March, right?
Just want to let any interested parties know that our bathroom remodel continues to move along - I'll try to remember to post some pics this week!
I'm in, and it will be my fourth cure. Messes seem to accumulate always, and I'm glad to have company cleaning up.
Did anyone save the permalink to that picture hanger gadget featured last week, I think it was. For ease in hanging the picture exactly where you want it? I think it was a bright yellow plastic thingy.
great kitchen! (very jealous of anyone's counterspace right now)
given how much stainless and machine-made your kitchen already is, I think a contrast would be nice.
don't know if you are into colour, or if you have sufficiently high ceilings, but I would hang several of Mark Bicker's lights (is it for over the island?):
the optic range would be beautiful in your space if you are willing to go with colour, otherwise, the cut pendants (there are more images under 'Projects')
I think that the delicate and handmade quality that they would add to the kitchen would be quite lovely.
art -- i don't know what kind of light any of those fixtures throw, but i sort of like the flexibility of the spots since once you hang a ceiling fixture, especially in a kitchen setting, you discover dark corners, etc. that you wish were illuminated a little better. it may not be the most sleek of the ones you are looking at, but i think it will be the most flexible and give you the best lighting options. plus i think it might also not look as dated as the others might in 5 years when some other trend has taken hold in lighting.
A friend just sent me this link and I thought you guys might enjoy it:
Those hand-blown pendants are beautiful monika 1. The lighting is not for the island but for the kitchen wall. I had previously though about pendants but then headed in a different direction, focusing on one wide suspended fixture to sort of fill in the open space in the center of the kitchen wall. The bickers pendants are so nice that I'm afraid there wouldn't be enough focus on them in that location.
I think the spot-like model is definitely the most functional nattles. The backsplash and sink work station is a big highlight of the kitchen and I don't think can be fully appreciated at this point due to incorrect lighting. The spot will throw light onto the center and into the corners where it is most needed. The canopy type fixtures may border on trendy, may not provide enough focused light and may compete with the kitchen hood. But that handkerchief style canopy is pretty cool! Everything has it's place I guess.
Thanks!
Hi, I'm looking for buyer experience with the Shade Store versus Smith and Nobe.
So far I haven't been impressed with the customer service from Smith and Noble. Phone reps are just snotty order takers without product knowledge. The Shade Store folk are just the opposite.
This sounds like a no-brainer -- but the shade store doesn't have the fabric I want. I'm willing to suffer through some snotty service if the quality from Smith and Noble is good.
Thoughts? (I'm shopping for a relaxed roman shade).
I have experience only with Shade Store. I will second the impressive customer service. Packaging and delivery was also impressive.

Ciute link. And I must be crazy b/c I was feeling sorry for the lamp!
Glass Panel Door Question
We replaced a whole wall in our last place with doors from The Sliding Door Company http://www.slidingdoorco.com/ and they looked amazing. I am going to use them again for my closets in my new place. Compared to other options I saw they were much more affordable and they are from a local Illinois company.
Shades and Blinds
I got my best deal from Budget Blinds and they will install too. We're not handy and had to hire someone to put in our sunshades from Smith and Noble and they did not hold up well either.
Does anyone know what kind of chemical would turn the copper tape used in stained glass black? I know how to turn the copper green, but am having trouble with getting it to turn black.

Yep, they are glass tiles, Francesca. They are from here: http://www.theglassmosaicoutlet.com/ and were really reasonable.
Thanks for the nice words, Art! We are pleased as punch and looking forward to showers at home by the weekend!
