Checking out Gapers Block this morning, we saw that according to this survey, Chicago is the most caffeinated city in the U.S.! Are AT:Chicagoans part of the majority and where do they go for a fill-up?

I buy my beans at the Tea & Coffee Exchange on Broadway and I buy whatever smells best at that moment in time!
In the middle of the day, if I need a boost at work, I will walk to the Intelligentsia.
I have a friend who works at Intelligentsia, so I drink their coffee pretty much exclusively. Sometimes I hit Charmer's on Jarvis which serves Metropolis.
You need to add: At work. We have a coffee machine here and that's pretty much the only place I get it- free! We've got Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts.
I've got an espresso machine at home and I've been loading it lately with fresh roasted beans from Whole Foods. They roast the beans right there and at least once I've walked around until the beans that I like were finished roasting. They were nice and toasty and warm when I scooped them into the bag.
When I'm not at home Intelligentsia is the best of the best.
I recently tried Metropolis in a French press and it was pretty damn good.
I used to like Peet's but it kind of cracks me out now.
Oh, and Whole foods puts the roasting date on all of their fresh roasted coffee.
If I want espresso I have a Bialetti stove top, and I use a fair trade organic coffee I buy in Italy. For mornings I use Prima Cafe fair trade organic, either Morning blend, Brazil, or Guatemalan coffee.
peet's and intelligentsia...
A few years ago I got myself a christmas/birthday x4 gift of a very nice espresso maker. I even make a bunch and bring it to work since it is sooo much better than the chiuces at work.
I'm in denial about my caffeine addiction, so I never brew at home, but I frequent the Italian Coffee Bar on Sherman Ave in Evanston more than I care to admit ...
I have been addicted to Caribou Coffee for about 10 years now. I carried this addiction to Ohio for college which didn't one the whole time I was in school. Now 6 years later there is one about 1 mile from my house.
I'm a South Sider, so Java Express (107th and Hale) was genetically encoded in my blood. Even six years of my sister as Starbucks management couldn't change it.
Intelligentsia at Milk & Honey Cafe, Division Street. They make a divine latte. My office is right across the street. Way too convenient.
No Starbucks for this girl!
Metropolis in Edgewater for my beans, as well as destination.
My Pasquini espresso machine has been in the shop for a couple of months now, so I have been frequenting Intelligensia for my fix.
I used to brew Illy at home, but I recently got turned on to something called "Expobar" that Pasquini imports. It's good as press coffee - I can't wait to try it as espresso.
Oops! I put a comment were it didn't belong: I thought Janel meant AT Chicago readers, not inhabitants. Sorry
Coffee and Tea exchange on Broadway in Lakeview. Or at home with beans from there or just the grocery store, whole foods or trader joe's...
Nespresso!
Generally coffee free but when I do grab a cup it's at the local cafe/bakery: Letizia's Natural Bakery on Division between Western and Damen.
I am not in Chicago but Alterra coffee out of Milwaukee makes my favorite beans to use at home. If I go somewhere for a brewed cup it is E.V.P. Coffee. They have the best brewed coffee in Madison.
illy! 100% arabica.
Best Local Coffee: Chapman Coffee House, Old Towne Orange CA
I recommend the Iced Caffe Miele'. It is like an iced latte' with vanilla sweet espresso and little beads of honey. Mmmmm
