How did we miss this? Yesterday we stumbled upon Marjorie Freed's chicagoTips.com while doing a search. It's a friendly, chatty blog filled with the kind of information we love on the city we can't get enough of.
From poking around it seems that Marjorie is a grandmother who really enjoys life in Chicago. She makes good recommendations (going to navy pier? skip the overpriced icky food and eat at fox & obel instead), shares her favorite sources ( lamp repair?, try David's Inc.) and provides inspiration for places to go and things to do ( Free rush-hour concerts, quilt show at Intuit).
In her words: "chicagoTips.com focuses on the offbeat: cultural opportunities, non-profit venues, shops, restaurants, hints for coping, free stuff too."
It's like we just meet a neighbor who is full of good advice on Chicago life.
