A little cartoonish but for a budget motel, I'll take new and cartoonish over old and sketchy any day! This is a great revamp.

Seeing as the main allure of any motel/hotel is a nice bed to snuggle in for the night, I sure hope those beds are more comfortable than they look. Overall, it's a vast improvement, I'm sure.

It has an almost dorm-room feel to it, but I still prefer it to the generic floral prints you see at a lot of budget hotels. It's not high-end design (but who really expects that from a cheap hotel?) but it's new, fun, and has a nice clean feel to it. It's definitely a big improvement!

Those rooms are so cute! It will give Motel 6 a whole new image.

The faux wood flooring will make it much easier to get the blood off the floors.

It's funny. I have been wanting to use an orange like that for months and I couldn't go through with it. (My question being answered on the DC forum would have helped) I think I'm ready.

Huge Improvement.
I love the idea of a floor in a hotel that is NOT carpet. Hotel carpets always seem so gross, and I can't not think about other people's bare feet on them..

That is a huge, huge improvement! Simple, modern, and it looks easier to keep clean, too. Good move.

I stayed at the Motel 6 in Carpenteria last weekend that looks just like this. The room was sooo small we were cracking up (I was sharing it with my husband and our couple friends). My husband kept calling it "The Standards retarded little brother." My suggestion to anyone staying there is get your own room and don't forget your own shampoo.

Most of all -- it looks clean. If you're in a budget motel/hotel, cleanliness is the top priority.

Gee - Then you must really hate beaches...

I like the improvement. It's a lot better than what I call the "hotel/motel look", that sometimes appears even in restaurants. Badly patterned carpet, floral everywhere, lame art prints, and gold (lighting, trim, frames, what have you.) I much prefer simple over a certain style, or lack there of.

i stayed in a motel 6 in greensboro, nc, this summer, as they are the only less expensive motels that allow pets. well that place was a dump beyond dumps. it should be torn down and rebuilt. besides which, some crazed overgrown shar pei attacked my beagle.

These are really cute, I'd stay in one. Thank goodness they're getting rid of carpeting, that is one thing that I find a little gross about any hotel, no matter how nice it is. It also looks like the bedspreads can be easily washed compared those floral polyester monstrosities that most motels have.

bepsf -- Do you understand that the tide comes up on beaches? That the sand is constantly being moved? Plus you are probably going to be hitting the shower when you get home unlike if you take a shower in a motel your feet hit the carpet again and defeats the purpose. With that in mind, I tend to wear socks around a hotel room where I'd go barefoot at home.

Any carpet-free motel/hotel is a winner in my book.

We also stayed at the updated Motel 6 in Carp and it was nice and clean thanks to the redesign...but the bed was the worst. Bring your own pillow!
