Our cell phone is our alarm clock. We don't really even set that very often, as we generally are early risers here at our apartment. Looking around the web for nice alarm clocks to feature for bedroom month, we were reminded of the Gellule designed by Pascal Bardel. We've liked this design since we first saw it - the dotty digital display, candy colors and pharmaceutical styling; we like it all.
The colorful end is both the speaker and a twistable volume control for the radio.
Maybe it's a good thing that we're not in the market for an alarm clock in any urgent way - this seems like it may be one of those "fun to look at but you can't buy it" products that exist only on blogs! We've been searching and have not run across anywhere to actually purchase it yet, but we'll update when and if we do...

I am in the market for a new alarm clock...anyone have any other good ideas for some nice modern ones? I like this one, but also can't find it. I'm contemplating the Phillipe Starck/Oregon Scientific small grey one, but it's about $50 in Canada including shipping and everything and I'm not in LOVE with it. Anyone have a favourite?

That wood clock is being knocked off all over the place - in laminate. You can't tell by looking at a photo online, so be careful when you're shopping for it.
We have the Big Ben Twilight clocks in our bedroom. They're cheaper-looking in person, and the alarm is annoying (a loud buzzer), but they're ok. I've found it very difficult to find an alarm clock that's both good-looking and functional. eva, I found this online last week - the site says it will be available in March. I'm hoping that's accurate, because I like it better than anything I've seen (although those capsule clocks above are pretty cute):
