apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Aptly named Pling Pling, the artwork makes you feel a little like a pinball as you zig-zag through rooms lit by a buzzing flatscreen TV. Standing in each box of color, you catch a glimpse of the next room. You can feel the temperature of a bright yellow grow hotter as it bleeds into orange and cooler as it approaches green. (As you can see from the photos, the installation also demonstrates how difficult it can be to keep a matte painted floor clean!)

Meireles' art is all about color. We featured his monochromatic Red Room, installed at London's Tate Modern, on Apartment Therapy. Although these conceptual installations might be too far-out to be implemented in a living space, they demonstrate the capability of color to completely change the way a room looks and feels.
