Functional Art by George Denninger

At first I just wanted to show you these one-of-a-kind doors by St. Louis' George Denninger (first two photos). But then I came across his pianos... and quilts... and windows...

Turns out designer George Denninger has all sorts of amazing functional art up his sleeve. The doors are beautiful, but I'm also floored by the level of detail in his quilts, the fairytale whimsy of his windows (can you imagine opening that casement from an upper bedroom window?), and the sculptural quality of his pianos. There's lots more to see, too, so head on over to georgedenninger.com to see the rest of his work.

These are beautiful. They remind me a little of Gaudi.

Fairy-tale-ish and cute (except for the piano).

It all reminds me of the hobbit houses in The Shire. =)
