As much as we love clustered artwork, it can be really refreshing to see a wall with just one painting. Wandering the halls at Art Chicago this weekend, we noticed that most galleries used salon-style hanging to get the most bang for their booth dollars. When we spotted one small Donald Judd construction hanging in its own space, we were really drawn to it. (Sorry, we couldn't get a photo.) It was a simple, minimal statement that stood out among so much art...

At the risk of sounding dense... I don't get what's so groundbreaking about hanging a piece of artwork on a wall by itself. Lots of people have been doing this for many years.

its just that clustering has become very popular as of late.
