Michael Wolf; Transparent City #39; 2007/2008 | Chromogenic print | 40 x 52 in.
"The Transparent City" surveys the density and magnitude of Chicago's skyline. (Michael) Wolf's large scale prints reveal the enormity of its skyscrapers; at the same time they enable us to observe intimate and private goings on within individual apartments and offices. By cropping out traces of street and sky Wolf constructs an abstracted and endless world of windows, lights and reflections.
Enjoy seeing in these windows as much as we do:

Michael Wolf; Transparent City #12; 2007/2008 | Chromogenic print | 64 x 48 in.

Michael Wolf; Transparent City #88; 2007/2008 | Cibachrome print | 40 x 52 in.

thanks for posting this! I heard the interview on NPR and it sounded amazing - I definitely want to make it to the gallery to see these in person.

I saw this exhibit last weekend and loved it. The photos are mostly large scale, so you can see amazing detail in each of the windows. It was completely voyeuristic. Excellent (and FREE) way to spend an hour.
