I've always found Michael's arts and crafts store to be a great source for poster frames. I bought a huge frame there (27" X 39") a couple weeks ago, for 40% off, so, around $24 or something like that.

And if you're in NYC, Sam Flax on West 20th Street is closing and has great prices on frames. Can't remember if I saw poster-sized frames, but very good deals to be had.

What perfect timing for this post. I just ordered a poster yesterday and was about to start the search for a frame.

If you need cheap, customized frames for posters, etc. that aren't the standard sizes, I highly recommend pictureframes.com . . . you pick from a huge variety of frame types and colors, can pick matting, upload a jpeg of the poster to see how it looks, and its easy to assemble.

i have an ork poster and tried finding as frame for it at Ikea - I couldn't find one that fit the dimensions. I think it was more the Ikea-induced fluster I always get by the time i reach the frames area. It seems like every frame i wanted was like an inch or 2 too long. I would really like the Reslig for it

anyone else have a framed ork poster?

Two months ago I picked up a couple of poster frames at Hobby Lobby for $15 for both. They were having a 50% off sale, so I guess the regular price for the 18x24 size is $15 dollars. They look like the k-mart ones you posted.

Has anyone found frames of this size with decent grade acrylic, the American Frame place looks like it good, hard to tell on the website. I just don't like those frames with the flimsy acrylic, they looks really bad. I have replace some of my bigger frames with glass but this makes the picture much heavier, obviously, and I reinforced the frames to be able to hold the weight as they aren't designed for glass. So a higher grade acrylic would be worth extra money to me....

For people who live near an Aaron Brothers, they are currently having a 1 cent sale (buy any frame or canvas for full price and a second frame or canvas of the same or lesser value is 1 cent). That brings the price of a poster frame down by 50%. They only do this twice a year and I think the sale is only on for a few more days.

Have you tried www.posterhanger.com ? It is a great option to suspend a poster instead of framing plus you can reuse the hanger/switch out posters very easily. The after sales service is great as well

Hobby Lobby frequently puts their ready frames on 50% off. I purchased a large contemporary black frame originally $60 for $30, so even with out the sell Hobby Lobby is on the list for cheap framing.

im going to have to second the hobby lobby comment.. in fact, i went there today for a 11x 14 frame and only paid 5.40 for it. 50% off. given its very plain, black, and not at all high quality, but whatever.

I like the IKEA poster frame. It's cheap for sure and wouldn't stand any scratching but it's not obviously cheap.

Yep, I was going to mention Aaron Brothers. Our sale ends Sunday- a semi-annual sale, around December/January and June/July. Problem is, they don't advertise very well... everyone rushes in last minute and when they ask how long it's going for, I say "over 3 weeks..." they get pissed. *sigh* We do have a huge selection though, and usually you'll get a 40% reg. priced item coupon through email... and while we are owned by Michaels, not EVERYTHING is on sale where you wouldn't be able to use the coupon.

Wow... I plugged a little, huh? lol
