Teco Art Pottery Collection

We'd like to be in this room...at least, the parts we can see seem like they would make up a beautiful whole. We just heard from Eric at Prairie Arts about a new product line: the Teco art pottery collection. On the far left is a piece from the collection, the double gourd vase.

The collection consists of seven designs (we're especially drawn to the "Kiss" piece, shown above in white, and yellow below), and each comes in a choice of six wonderfully muted colors...that remind us somewhat of Sarah's Scrabble palette.

081707LG_Kiss_Yellow.jpgA bit about Teco:

Teco {an abbreviation of TErra COtta} art pottery was originally produced from 1899 through 1920 by the American Terra Cotta and Ceramics Company, located in Terra Cotta, Illinois. There are about 500 different Teco shapes, whose forms can be categorized as architectural, organic or classical.

I like that chair too, though not in white. My rockstar lifestyle does not abide white upholstery.

I'm so loving the Orb shape in yellow or white! What's particularly great about these pieces is that pretty, different, and really, really affordable.

Thanks sgnt13- you know for 80 bucks, I might actually dry-clean the slipcover now and then.

The Chicago Historical Society's gift shop has just started carrying Teco pottery. You can also see vintage pieces in their permanent collection!
