The $3 Mirror Project

103009-mirror.jpg We double plus, love crafty creative projects that look fabulous and don't take up that much of our hard earned cash. This project is a great accent to the entryway of this home and is made of wooden coffee stir sticks, a plate and a mirror!

We ran across this great project from Ashley's Thrifty Living by way of Dollar Store Crafts. Both sites have a wealth of helpful projects for greating fun things on a next to nothing budget. This particular project was made from wooden coffee stir sticks, painted shiny metallic silver, a salad plate and a circular mirror.

The salad plate was used as a template to keep the coffee sticks in the right place while gluing. Although she had many of the materials on hand before starting the project, even if you had to buy all of them outright, this mirror should still come in under the $10 mark, including: paint, mirror, sticks and glue!

Thanks Ashley!

Good starting point, but when working with such cheap materials why so stingy? I'd layer and stack the sticks irregularly in the sunburst pattern for more wow power.

Not so sure this would look that great up close. Probably looks like coffee stirrers, painted white, attached to a mirror.

Sorry, but this looks like $3. Might as well use pipe cleaners...
