Since 2000, Chicago-based Internet company Threadless has been surviving and thriving off community-based T-shirt designs. Now they're getting into the business of art with a new series of three prints to be released each Monday. All three of their debut prints (released this week) were adapted from T-shirt designs and screen-printed by local shops including the Post Family, Screwball Press, and Sonnenzimmer...

Besides editioned prints, their Lincoln Park retail location is selling original "mashups" of T-shirt designs painted by Joe Suta:

We think Threadless' online community-focused approach to apparel design - and now artwork - offers an interesting alternative to traditional modes of art-making.
